Halloween🎃: Quarantine Edition

This year hasn't at all been what anyone had expected, but that doesn't mean that it can't be an enjoyable one. One of the many traditions practiced throughout the years that has been affected by the Covid-19 Outbreak is the king of terror himself; good ole Hallows Eve.

With the possible cancellation of Halloween in mind, I began researching what could be done to keep the spirit (no pun intended😉) of this holiday intact, even in these trying times. So without further ado, here is my take on celebrating Halloween: Quartine Edition.

1. Halloween Movie Night 🍿

With home being at the forefront of society today, the perfect way to stay home, safe and still enjoy the festive fun, is huddled up on the living room couch with the ones you love, the remote, popcorn, and a marathon of the best horror movies ever! And hell, who doesn't like a good scare from time to time?👻

2. Halloween Baking Wars 🍴

Now, I'm sure everyone has heard of the all too familiar, yearly Halloween Baking Championship airing on The Foodnetwork Channel, however, if you are anything like me and you love friendly competition, combine that with a love for getting your hands dirty in the kitchen AND you will have the best bake-off in Halloween history 🍰 Be warned, demons lurk beyond the dishes in your sink.

3. Pumpkin Carving & Decor 🎃

This one is a total given, but trust me it is totally worth its while. Head to your local grocery store or farmers' market and pick out the most unique pumpkins you can find 🎃Then make a quick stop at the dollar store to find decor for your new spooky friends, and go to town with your decorations galore! And if you are brave enough, carve your very best spooky face into the pumpkin of your choice.

4. Costume Runway 👯‍♀️

Costume theses days can be pretty pricey, but just bear with me on this one! Whether you recycle a costume from previous years or by a new and inexpensive one, Halloween at home is the perfect time to show off your runway skills with a few cameras, and flashing lights catching your every move, from the living room to the hall 💃

5. Put on a show 🎬

Much like the runway show, a Halloween play can be the perfect way to get the family together for a night of excitement and possibly a few scares. Create a short play including all of your favorite festive ghouls or revamp Romeo and Juliet to your spooky heart's desire 🎭 Who knows, you might inspire the next Off-Broadway hit.

6. Graveyard Hunt 🦴

Although it might sound strange and a little too risky at first, a Halloween Graveyard hunt could be the perfect blend of outside and spooky thrills for this season. Before heading out, research cemeteries within your neighborhood to see if they will be open on Halloween night, and create checkpoints at different historic gravestones to visit ☠ Whoever finds the most gravestones gets first dibs on the candy bowl back at home!

7. Scary Stories

The sharing of scary stories is older than the holiday itself, but that doesn't make them any less frightening. Gather around the family room with just a flashlight and your best work of fiction to end the night on a spooky landslide 🦇

Closing

All in all, this list goes to show you that no matter the circumstances, there are always memories to be made and moments to cherish! See ya in the next one!
